Low-Res/High-Res graphics
Files for print generally need to be scanned/drawn at 300dpi. What looks great on screen at 72dpi would look pretty bad when printed.

Boosting the resolution from 72 to 300dpi in a paint program (Photoshop - Paint Shop Pro etc.) doesn't normally work as this just interpolates the image, i.e. adds similar coloured pixels to the image, which in turn can 'up' the image size but makes for a more 'blurry' effect.

Value . . .

It's unwise to pay too much, but it's unwise to pay too little.

When you pay too much you lose a little money, that is all.

When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing you bought it to do.

The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. It can't be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it's well to add something for the risk you run.

And if you do that, you will have enough to pay for something better.

How to order from Castle Print & Design

Proceed straight to 'How to Order'.

Why no online ordering system?

In this modern age of the internet it would be very easy for us to have an online ordering system, in line with the many print companies offering this type of service. However, from experience we have found that many clients prefer to deal directly with a company on a one-to-one basis and not trust their requirements to be produced 'automatically', as in an online ordering system.

Many jobs tend to have a uniqueness that doesn't lend itself to an automatic ordering system. e.g.-

The majority, if not all online systems will produce your stationery in a 4 colour process. For many of our corporate clients, this is not ideal as many use specific spot colours to produce their branding. In fact, any client who understands the importance of branding, and the consistency of colour across the brand, will usually prefer to deal with a company that takes this aspect very seriously and therefore prefer to work closely with their supplier. There is a lot of satisfaction to be had knowing that your artwork is being dealt with in a professional manner by a real person, and not a computer program.

The person who often has the onerous task of ordering business cards for maybe 20, 50 or even 100 employees in their business would probably prefer for someone else to set up all the cards, rather than themselves having to feed the information into an online system. Grouping sets of business cards together is a great way of substantially reducing costs and in many cases, the costs can be reduced even further by careful planning by the in-house graphics studio.

Follow-up orders can be simply made by sending an email with the new details, if any, and we can then take care of all positioning etc. of the new artwork and always advise if we think an error has been made along the line.

How do I order?
At the bottom of every page on the site there will be a link that when clicked on will open a form that is relevant to the page in question. For instance, if you'd like to make an enquiry about continuous stationery, (computer forms), then the link at the foot of this page > Continuous Forms < will open a form that asks a few basic questions that are specific to computer forms. On submission, this form is fed into our email management program and directed to the person best equipped to deal with your enquiry.

This system has worked well for many years, and we know from feedback that many people prefer this type of service.

Here are the form links for the various categories:
